Frequently Asked Questions

How many bathrooms do you have in each unit?

Each one-bedroom unit has a full bathroom, including a Jacuzzi tub/spa. Each 2-bedroom apartment has 2 1/2 bathrooms consisting of a 1/2 bath on the first level and private baths for each bedroom, one of which has Jacuzzi tub

 Do the units have washers/dryers?

Yes, all (100%) of our units have a washer and a dryer.

 Do you allow pets?

Yes, pets are permitted with a $25 extra per month pet lease and a $250 non-refundable pet fee. In the event that a non-disclosed pet is discovered during the term of the lease, it will be assumed that the pet has been present for the term of the lease. The tenant will then be charged the additional pet lease and the $250 non-refundable pet fee will be due immediately. The pet fee is not considered a deposit, but rather is in the nature of spreading among all pet lessees the damages that a few misbehaving animals will ultimately commit. We have no way of knowing which animals will be problematic until after the damages have occurred.

In order to be eligible for a pet lease, your pet must have all immunizations up-to-date, including but not limited to: rabies, distemper, parvo, and others as required. Your pet must also be fully house trained, and management has sole discretion to reject any pet it believes does not meet these requirements.

We do not accept pit bulldogs, dobermans, rottweilers, or any animal with demonstrated agressive tendancies, regardless of breed.

The pet owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet, and for any damages occasioned by said pet, and for fully complying with the City of Starkville's Animal Control Ordinance which mandates, among other things: -Annual registration of dogs at cost of $10.00 per dog ($5 if spayed or neutered) -Proof of rabies Vaccination -Detailed description of dog including id marks, microchip brand and no., tattoos, weight, etc

How well lit is the parking lot?

Our parking lot has four large streetlights in addition to three large streetlights behind our units, and each main building has halogen motion detector lights at the back. We do have a courtesy police officer residing at the complex.

If you travel to MSU via Washington/ Gillespie Street, the distance to the campus is one and a third miles. If traveling to MSU via Main St./ University Drive, then the distance to a more northerly part of the campus is approximately one and an eighth miles. If accessed via Highway 12, from the south, the distance is similarly approximately 1 1/2 miles. Fortenberry, CLP (Certified Leasing Professional), will walk you through the leasing process and explain it to you.  For anyone relying on parent and/or student loans for income (generally all undergraduates), then Parental/guardian signature, notarized if not present at signing, is required, regardless of tenant age.  This requirement may be waived for graduate students, at the discretion of Brownsville Station.

 How is the rent collected?

All rent is collected by ACH bank draft of the account specified by the tenant in the lease. We do not take cash, checks or money orders in payment of rent, but a check may be accepted for the amount of deposit/pet fee. A check marked "void", so as to designate the payment account, must be provided prior to move in. In the event that a tenant/ parent wishes to set up a separate checking account for this purpose, all major banks in Starkville offer free checking to students.
